Research Scientist in Herbal Chemistry

Essentials:
  • Should have experience of extraction, isolation and purification for known or unknown natural products.
  • Exposure to HPTLC, Flash Chromatography, FTIR and other R&D instruments.
  • Experience in R&D with expertise in herbal and natural product chemistry.
  • Experience in handling team.
  • Preparing, Executing and Closing the projects.
  • Maintaining the lab as per GLP requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Literature search, performing Gap analysis and writing manuscript.
  • Plan and conduct scientific experiments in the lab to create and refine target molecules from natural sources.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines and safe working practices.
  • Undertake data analysis to assess the results of experiments and the characteristics of the molecules produced.
  • Work closely with other scientific colleagues across different disciplines like Analytical Chemistry, In-vivo biology, In-vitro biology, Microbiology team.
  • Ensure the structure and purity of isolated compounds is correct.
  • Should have exposure of 'scale up' production of useful compounds that are created.
  • Should have a good hold of English for good documentation process.
  • Ability to think objectively and interpret meaningful themes from quantitative and qualitative data (Analytic Skills).
  • Generate reports and deliver presentations about his/her work's output.
Requirements:
  • Post graduate in M.Sc. Natural Product Chemistry, Organic Chemistry with 4 to 10 years experience in relevant field OR PhD with 4 to 6 years of experience in the relevant field lab.
  • Should have hands on experience/theoretical knowledge of the instruments used in the lab.
  • Should be conversant with GMP and GLP practices
  • Should have a good hold of English for good documentation process
  • Ability to think objectively and interpret meaningful themes from quantitative and qualitative data (Analytic Skills).
