Flow cytometer and Molecular Biology Scientist

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Flow Cytometry Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting flow cytometers, analyzing data, and providing technical expertise to support research or clinical projects. This role involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality data generation and interpretation.

Requirements

• Applicant should hold a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, Biotechnology or a related field of science.
• Candidate must be proficient in cell culture techniques, flow cytometry, and fluorescent microscopy. He/she should be capable of data mining and data analysis through software such as FlowJo, GraphPad Prism, R programming, and Sigma Plot. Experience with manuscript writing is a must.
• Prior experience in image based flow cytometry is a plus.
• The ideal candidate will have a strong record of scientific accomplishments through peer reviewed publications.
• Candidate should demonstrate high productivity, creativity, independent thought, and strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Instrument Operation and Maintenance: Operate and maintain Image based flow cytometry, ensuring optimal performance and accuracy of the instruments.
• Troubleshoot instrument issues and coordinate with respective vendors for repairs and maintenance.
• Train researchers for proper use of flow cytometry equipment and software.
• Assay development: Collaborate with researchers to develop and optimize flow cytometry based assays for specific research projects.
Provide technical expertise and guidance on experimental design and data analysis.
• Quality Control and Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reproducibility of flow cytometry experimental results.
Monitor and validate reagent and instrument performance regularly.
• Experimental design: Designing experiments, executing them, and analysing the data.
• Manuscript submission: Writing, editing, formatting, and submitting manuscripts as per journal guidelines.
• Data analysis: Analysing experimental data using statistical analysis software.
• Collaboration: Working with scientists in other groups, and contributing to the development of biological assays.
• Documentation: Maintaining appropriate documentation in lab notebook and data backup.
• Safety: Following lab safety guidelines and helping to design new guidelines.
• Communication: Presenting experimental results in written and oral communications
