The University of Patanjali (UOP), located near the tranquil Himalayan foothills in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, is named after Maharshi Patanjali, the sage who compiled the first aphorisms on Yoga around 900 BC. Established under Uttarakhand State Legislature Act No. 4/2006 and approved by the UGC, UOP is sponsored by Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust and affiliated with the Association of Indian Universities. The fully residential campus is known for its holistic approach, integrating Yoga, yajnas, and personalized teaching based on the ancient Guru-Shishya tradition. UOP offers diverse disciplines, including Yoga Science, Naturopathy, and Sanskrit, while emphasizing spiritual, mental, and physical well-being. 1. Professor
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach and mentor undergraduate, graduate or doctoral students in Science (Microbiology/Biochemistry/Biotechnology).
- Develop and lead research programs in the respective field.
- Publish scholarly work in national and international journals.
- Supervise PhD and postgraduate research scholars.
- Provide academic leadership, contributing to curriculum development, program design, and department activities.
Qualifications:
- PhD in a relevant discipline (Microbiology/Biochemistry/Biotechnology) from a recognized university.
- A minimum of 10 years of teaching experience at the university level, including at least 5 years as an Associate Professor.
- Proven track record of research with high-quality publications and citation index.
- National or international awards in the relevant field or equivalent academic recognition.
- Strong administrative and leadership skills.
Desirable Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in handling research grants and project management.
- Ability to foster partnerships with national/international academic and research institutions.
- Deep knowledge of current developments in the subject area.
2. Associate Professor
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach and mentor students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the relevant faculty.
- Undertake independent research, publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals.
- Participate in academic planning, curriculum development, and department initiatives.
- Supervise research students, providing guidance on their thesis work.
- Assist the Professor in leading and developing the faculty.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Science (Microbiology/Biochemistry/Biotechnology).
- At least 8 years of teaching/research experience in the relevant field, including at least 3 years as an Assistant Professor.
- Substantial research record with publications in reputed journals.
- Experience in supervising postgraduate or PhD scholars.
Desirable Skills:
- Strong pedagogical skills and the ability to design effective course modules.
- Knowledge of recent trends and research in the respective subject.
- Experience in research collaboration and multidisciplinary studies.
- Excellent communication and networking skills.
3. Assistant Professor
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach courses and conduct practical sessions at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Engage in active research, publishing work in academic journals.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum design.
- Guide students in research projects and extracurricular activities.
- Stay updated on current trends and research in Microbiology / Biochemistry / Biotechnology.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in the relevant field (Microbiology/Biochemistry/Biotechnology).
- PhD in the relevant field is preferred, or nearing completion.
- At least 1-3 years of teaching experience at the university level.
- Research experience and publications in refereed journals are desirable.
Desirable Skills:
- Effective teaching and student engagement abilities.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Willingness to engage in interdisciplinary teaching and research.
- Familiarity with e-learning platforms and online teaching tools.
