The University of Patanjali (UOP), located near the tranquil Himalayan foothills in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, is named after Maharshi Patanjali, the sage who compiled the first aphorisms on Yoga around 900 BC. Job Profile for Dean (Academics)

The Dean (Academics) will provide strategic leadership and direction to all academic programs, faculty development, curriculum enhancement and quality assurance in the institution. The role involves planning, overseeing and improving the academic standards, promoting research and fostering a collaborative environment that supports both faculty and students. The Dean will also ensure the institution meets regulatory standards and maintains a high level of academic integrity and excellence.

Qualification & Experience:
  • PhD or equivalent degree in an academic discipline relevant to the institution.
  • Minimum 10-15 years of academic experience, with at least 5 years in a senior administrative role.
  • Must have Knowledge & Experience of Implementation of New Education Policy
Duties & Responsibilities:

Scope of work includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • Provide strategic leadership in designing, implementing and evaluating academic programs to uphold educational standards and goals.
  • Develop and implement faculty recruitment, retention and professional development initiatives to ensure a high-quality teaching environment.
  • Create and support policies that improve student learning outcomes, academic advising and overall satisfaction.
  • Foster a culture of research and innovation, supporting faculty and student research projects and promoting scholarly contributions.
  • Ensure academic programs meet accreditation standards and regulatory requirements through rigorous quality assurance measures.
  • Manage the academic budget and resources efficiently, securing funding for academic initiatives and monitoring effective resource utilization.
  • Collaborate with institutional leaders, industry partners and community organizations to enhance academic opportunities and foster institutional growth.
  • Represent the institution in academic consortia and professional associations, building relationships to benefit students and faculty.
  • Regularly evaluates the effectiveness of academic programs, making necessary improvements to maintain high standards.
  • Provides professional development opportunities for faculty member to enhance their teaching, research and service capabilities.
