Patanjali Herbal Research Division works on documentation, analysis, designing and project executions of different themes in the alignment of aims and scope of Patanjali institutions. Around 150 well trained scientists with different expertise in Botany, Taxonomy, Microbiology, Biotechnology, etc. Work together on several academic research projects related to plant- based medicine, yoga and any such related field towards conducting extensive research for scientific and empirical evidence in support of therapeutic effects of selected areas. Several research and review articles are published in journals of national as well as international repute having a global visibility for Yoga and Ayurveda with supportive and authenticated data. This division aims to develop systematized and validated research work that shall be highly useful for scientists, researchers and industry experts engaged in the work related to research, development and promotion of Yoga and Ayurveda.

Job Profile for Scientist - D

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Soil Science Expert to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in soil science, with a focus on sustainable land management and agricultural practices. The role involves conducting research, providing expert advice and contributing to the development of effective soil management strategies.

Qualification & Experience:
  • A Master's or Ph.D. degree in Soil Science, Agronomy, Environmental Science or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6-8 years of relevant work experience in soil science or a closely related field.
  • Proven expertise in soil classification, fertility management, soil conservation and sustainable agriculture practices.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in soil sampling, data interpretation and report writing.
  • Familiarity with GIS (Geographic Information System) and other relevant software.
Duties & Responsibilities:

Scope of work includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • Conduct detailed soil analyses and assessments to determine soil properties and fertility levels.
  • Develop and implement sustainable soil management practices to enhance agricultural productivity and minimize environmental impact.
  • Provide expert advice to farmers, landowners and other stakeholders on soil health and conservation strategies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate soil science into broader land management and agricultural initiatives.
  • Design and execute field experiments to investigate soil-related issues and test innovative agricultural practices.
  • Updated with recent advancements in soil science research and technology, incorporating findings into practical recommendations.
  • Prepare and deliver educational materials, workshops and presentations to promote soil health awareness.
  • Collaborate with government agencies, research institutions and industry partners to contribute to policy development and research projects.
Other Requirements:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey complex soil science concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to plan, execute and complete tasks within deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for soil analysis and mapping.
  • Willingness to travel for fieldwork and engage with stakeholders in different locations in India.
Additional Responsibilities:

This includes but not limited to the following:

  • Experience in conducting soil surveys and mapping.
  • Familiarity with remote sensing and satellite imagery for soil monitoring.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to soil conservation and environmental protection.
  • Demonstrated commitment to sustainable and environmentally responsible practices.
