Qualification & Experience:
  • Education: A Ph.D. or master's degree in a related field (e.g., Sociology, Public Administration etc.) with more than 3 years of experience.
  • Specialization: Expertise in a particular subfield of social sciences, such as sociology, psychology, anthropology, economics, or political science.
  • Research Skills: Proficiency in research methodologies, data collection, and data analysis techniques.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to critically analyze and interpret data, research findings, and social phenomena.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for research reporting and presenting findings.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Effective interpersonal skills to collaborate with colleagues, students, and clients.
  • Statistical Software: Proficiency in statistical software like SPSS or R for data analysis.
  • Problem-Solving: Capacity to address complex social issues and propose solutions or recommendations.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage research projects, set objectives, and meet deadlines.
  • Ethical Conduct: Adherence to ethical principles and guidelines when conducting social science research, especially when human subjects are involved.
  • Time Management: Effective time management skills to meet project deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
Duties & Responsibilities:

Scope of work includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • Research and Analysis: Conduct research in specific social science areas, analyze data, and investigate social phenomena.
  • Data Collection: Collect data through surveys, interviews, observations, or archival research to support social science research projects.
  • Literature Review: Review existing research and literature to build a strong knowledge base and identify gaps in current understanding.
  • Statistical Analysis: Use statistical methods and software to analyze data and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Policy Analysis: Examine and assess social policies, making recommendations for improvements or changes.
  • Report Writing: Prepare research reports, papers, and publications to communicate findings and insights to academic and non-academic audiences.
  • Program Evaluation: Evaluate the impact of social programs and policies on communities or individuals.
  • Teaching and Education: Educate students, colleagues, or the general public on social science concepts and research methods.
  • Consultation: Provide expertise and guidance to organizations, government agencies, or businesses on social science-related matters.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate with professionals in various fields to address complex social issues.
Other Requirements:

  • Assist manager with any projects or initiatives as requested.
  • Participate in projects, committees or tasks forces as assigned by departmental supervisor.
Additional Responsibilities:

This includes but not limited to the following:

  • Generally aware of best practices and business/industry trends in social science.
  • Participate in VC/audio calls along with your manager and record the minutes as required.
