Patanjali Herbal Research Division works on documentation, analysis, designing and project executions of different themes in the alignment of aims and scope of Patanjali institutions. Around 150 well trained scientists with different expertise in Botany, Taxonomy, Microbiology, Biotechnology, etc. Work together on several academic research projects related to plant- based medicine, yoga and any such related field towards conducting extensive research for scientific and empirical evidence in support of therapeutic effects of selected areas. Several research and review articles are published in journals of national as well as international repute having a global visibility for Yoga and Ayurveda with supportive and authenticated data. This division aims to develop systematized and validated research work that shall be highly useful for scientists, researchers and industry experts engaged in the work related to research, development and promotion of Yoga and Ayurveda.

Job Profile for Lab Technician:

The Lab Technician is responsible for performing routine laboratory analyses, operate and maintain scientific instruments, and ensure the accuracy, reliability and integrity of experimental results. The Lab Technician will assist in sample preparation, data collection and laboratory management for ongoing research and development activities.

Qualification & Experience:
  • B.Sc./M.Sc. in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Chemistry or related discipline.
  • 1–3 years in a laboratory handling analytical or molecular biology instruments.
  • Hands-on experience with instruments like gel electrophoresis, UV spectrophotometer, PCR, sonicator, vacuum concentrator, Gc-Ms/Ms, lyophilizer, soxhlet, rotary evaporator.
  • Knowledge of analytical techniques, sample preparation and data interpretation.
  • Basic computer literacy (MS Office, data analysis software).
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation practices.
Duties & Responsibilities:

Scope of work includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • Operate, calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments such as Gel Electrophoresis, UV Spectrophotometer, PCR, Sonicator, Vacuum Concentrator, GC-MS/MS, Lyophilizer, Soxhlet and Rotary Evaporator.
  • Prepare biological, chemical and environmental samples according to established standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Conduct analytical tests and molecular biology experiments with accuracy and consistency.
  • Record, analyze and interpret experimental data, ensuring data integrity and traceability.
  • Maintain detailed logs for equipment usage, calibration and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety standards, including proper chemical handling and waste disposal.
  • Assist research and project teams in experiment setup, sample processing and documentation. 
  • Manage laboratory inventory, including reagents, consumables and coordination for instrument servicing or repairs. 
Work Environment:
  • Laboratory-based role involving use of chemicals, biological materials and analytical instruments.
  • Requires adherence to safety protocols and good laboratory practices (GLP).
