Job Profile for Research Scientist (Medicinal Chemistry /Phytochemistry):

The Research Scientist (Medicinal Chemistry / Phytochemistry) is responsible for the scientific documentation and characterization of phytochemicals, with a focus on the stereochemistry of bioactive molecules and structure-activity relationships. This role is ideal for candidates passionate about natural product chemistry, drug discovery, and phytochemical research. The role requires a PhD or Master’s in Medicinal Chemistry, Phytochemistry or related fields, with expertise in scientific writing related to natural product chemistry.

Qualification & Experience:
  • Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry, Phytochemistry, or a related field.
  • M.Sc./M.Pharm. Degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in medicinal chemistry, preferably in academia.
  • Expertise in natural product research, stereochemical concepts, classification of phytochemicals, ChemDraw, data analysis and interpretation.
  • Understanding of common human diseases, disease mechanisms, diagnostics and treatments.
  • Excellent scientific writing and verbal communication skills, with a strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals (h-index should be >10).
  • Strong collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:

Scope of work includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • Literature Review and Research
  • Scientific Content Writing
    • Maintain accurate documentation, prepare technical reports and contribute to research publications.
  • Data Interpretation and Presentation
  • Grant and Proposal Writing
  • Regulatory and Technical Documentation
  • Science Communication and Public Education
    •  Create articles, brochures, booklets, or blog posts for non-scientific audiences.
  • Collaboration and Peer Interaction
    •  Participate in scientific discussions, presentations and conferences to disseminate phytochemical research.
Additional Responsibilities:

This includes but not limited to the following:

  • Generally aware of best practices and business/industry trends in writing/translation.
  • Participate in VC/audio calls along with your manager and record the minutes as required.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong research skills for terminology and domain-specific knowledge.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Passion for language and cultural preservation.
